PROGRAM GOALS

The fashion industry is a demanding field that recognizes excellence. Designers must have a keen sense of aesthetics and respect the laws of the market. Our school offers a college program in fashion design which enables students to develop their artistic and technical skills for a career in a dynamic and exciting sphere of activity. In addition to developing his/her own style, the training will enable the graduate to analyze and interpret trends in order to develop new styles. The program also includes courses on PAD System, Photoshop and Illustrator software and Design Click on modules, allowing the student to work with the technology of fashion design.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The fashion design program’s goal is to train designers of feminine fashion whose role is to design quality clothes and create styles or clothing designs that reflect the fashion trends as well as the needs of various markets target in a defined sequence. The fashion designer should conduct research on the materials used, oversee the implementation of the pattern and the manufacture of prototypes and ensure development.

The program aims to achieve the following objectives:
  • Making the student independent in the application of work functions relating to training in fashion design;
  • Promote the integration of the student within the company according to the chosen career orientation and that, depending on the knowledge and skills demonstrated;
  • Encourage the development of the student in accordance with the needs and requirements in the apparel industry;
  • Make the person competent in the exercise of his/her profession, that is to say allow him/her, since its integration into the labor market and in the performance capacity required, to perform the tasks and perform activities associated with the profession;
  • Promote the integration of the person in the working life, including through a knowledge of the labor market in general as well as a knowledge of the particular context in which he/she carry their chosen profession;
  • Promote the development and deepening of professional knowledge in the person;
  • Encourage the professional mobility of the person by allows him/her to provide resources to carry out well his/her career, including an awareness of entrepreneurship.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Those interested in enrolling in this program must have completed a secondary or vocational diploma (DES or DEP) or have training deemed sufficient by the college. Those interested in enrolling in this program must also satisfy the following conditions:
  • Having interrupted his/her studies for at least two consecutive semesters or one academic year.
  • To be covered by an agreement between the College and an employer or a government program.
  • Have completed at least one year of postsecondary education over a period of a year or more.

FASHION DESIGN (NTC.ON)

The program has a duration of 1290 hours over 17 months, followed by a graduation project or internship of 240 hours over two months.
