PROGRAM GOALS

The graduates of Telecommunications are generally found among manufacturers of communications equipment, with companies offering telecommunications services, cable television, as well as the wholesale and retail electronic communication products. The main tasks of these technologists are to do the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of equipment for the world of information and communications. In many cases, they will also work with technical assistance and representation.

TRAINING GOALS

Technologists in this sector must install and configure IP AND VOIP networks, draw diagrams and make a device using industrial techniques. Install, maintain and modify the electronic equipment used to transport, packaging or conversion of analog or digital signals used mainly in the field of communications. Diagnose and troubleshoot telecommunications systems at high frequencies with residential IP networks (DOCSIS ADSL) using appropriately specialized instrumentation. In addition, the program will allow the student to obtain the skills necessary for the preparation of CCNA and CVOICE Cisco.

FUTURE PROSPECTS

Telecommunications technicians, electronic technicians, installers and repairers of telecommunications equipment. The holders of the certificate in telecommunications can work in different careers

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Those interested in enrolling in this program must have completed a secondary or vocational diploma (DES or DEP) or have training deemed sufficient by the college. Those interested in enrolling in this program must also satisfy the following conditions:
  • Having interrupted his/her studies for at least two consecutive semesters or one academic year.
  • To be covered by an agreement between the College and an employer or a government program.
  • Have completed at least one year of postsecondary education over a period of a year or more.
